I can’t ever do the YRT weekend camp trip enough. This time with the new to me Holga 135BC camera. First roll with the new camera, and also the first roll I’ve ever developed myself.
Ruihui Lin Ghost Bike lock up. Ruihui was struck and killed on August 3rd, 2009 at the intersection of Louisa and Meyran, Pittsburgh.

East End Brewing’s annual keg ride drew 500+ people for 2009, doubling the 2008 numbers. Potentially the largest grass-roots ride in Pittsburgh in decades.
Pedal Pittsburgh always attracts a number of riders to explore the city. BikePGH parked some 300+ bikes for folks as they had lunch after the ride.
Schwinn American. I’ve owned this bike for years – bought it at the thrift store as seen for $39.99 – and know very little about it.
Shot a few months back for a friend’s project. Needed a shot of an old bike that looked like a flatbed scan.
Everything was going well until Rob’s knee opened up. A few dozen stitches, back playing polo two days later.

We all have our vices, mine is the bicycle. While this may seem excessive, especially coupled with the dozen or so other incomplete or otherwise oddball bikes throughout the house, it represents some 15 years of accumulated and traded-up parts. By this point I’ve owned a number of bicycles.
In rough order of ownership, a sort of complete list:
- Giant Yukon (’93 or so, upgraded to Specialized Futureshok suspension fork that had 1.75″ travel and inflated with a basketball needle syringe, beginning of the end)

- Spooky Darkside (Easton Ultralite, stupid light at ~3lbs for the frame, around ‘97)
- Eastern Woods Research modified trials bikes (Rumored to be EWR #1, the original, ‘98)
- Mongoose/AMP B3 (relatively early lightweight full suspension. Around 1998.)
- 1×1 Rat Ride (pre-Surly Surly, around ‘98)
- Surly Crosscheck (’99 still have this bike, pictured above. Longest ownership to date.)
- Monty 231 X-Lite (26″ stock trials bike, square downtube, around 19lbs complete in ‘99-00 when I was competing frequently)
- Monty 221 X-Lite (20″modified trials bike, 17.5lbs during competition days)
- Brisa B26 (26″ stock trials bike, ‘01)
- Eastern Woods Research E-Motion (26″ xc bike, had Ted Wojcik weld disc mount on it)

- Monty 221 X-Lite (I bought another one later, earlier version thought w/ square downtube, didn’t get back into trials)
